I had the pleasure of listening to music I grew up with.
Or so I thought.
I was listening to Money for Nothing and was humming right along when all of a sudden I noticed a break in the cadence. An entire verse is missing!!! That throws off the entire song and its intended meaning! It isn't missing in the Weird Al Parody, it isn't missing in the original single release, it isn't missing from the album version that I just bought from iTunes…so I gotta ask….
WHAT THE FUCK?!
Have we gotten so goddamned sensitive that we can't be honest about ANYthing?!?!?!? The missing verse goes like this, and was perfectly FINE for original broadcast in 1985, offending absolutely nobody:
See the little faggot with the earring and the makeup,
Yeah buddy, that's his only care
The little faggot got his own jet airplane
The little faggot he's a millionaire
Now, I'm going to imitate one of my favorite comedians here, so bear with me and try not to think bad thoughts. I may even disable comments on this one to avoid backlash which I will just ignore anyway.
But if the little faggots get so easily offended by this, THEY DON'T HAVE TO FUCKING LISTEN TO THE SONG!!! It's that simple!!! Did these people ever stop to realize that radios actually have two knobs on them? One's to change the station, and the other one IS TO TURN THE FUCKING THING OFF if you don't want to listen to anything!!!
Why do we have to be assaulted by people who are too offended by any little thing these days. Don't even get me STARTED on The General Lee and TVLand. I'll never stop.
And that's my tribute to the late great George Carlin. We should all be a little more like him, I think, and just not give a fuck about offending people. Life is uncensored. Deal with it.
Rant mode off.
Oh, and I want my MTV…..
Thank God nobody dared fuck with Rio, or I'd REALLY be pissed. That's like my second-favorite song, ever.
